The same Nintendo that put their games on Phillips CD-i but people only rememer the Mario still is all those things.

"Oh no a mobile game! Oh it's not revolutionary what a sad sad day! This isn't the Nintendo I used to know!" Which I'm seeing more and more of lately. This is not about "defending" it's about contending with irrational logic. They can fail and bust for all I care (actually no, I do want good for them).

This is exactly that.Īnd this isn't "defending Nintendo". You start with something you know everyone will like. But the name of the game isn't to make "innovative" games, the name of the game is to make "fun games that sell". Innovation is a means to an end It's one of many ways to make a game more enjoyable. Who says it has to? "Innovation" means nothing. Why go there and do yet another 'good' runner" it doesn't even take the genre to the net level. Guess they just shouldn't make any games in any genre which other great games exist? There are plenty of good games in every genre. And the casuals already don't care about Nintendo so, nothing to lose really. People who care about quality console games won't suddenly stop liking great console games just because bad mobile games exist. Besides, I don't think people will stop caring about quality console games just because of a bad mobile game.

And so far their free to play efforts have really outshone all those dime a billion mobile devs. But until your predictions come to pass, they're but only if the mobile games are junk. So maybe just come back when it actually happens and then you can say how right you were. So we will suffer.īut uh, until that day comes, if it ever comes, your talk is cheap. But let's hope that day never comes because it will kill off 90% of their IP. If they go 3rd party then I'll buy their games on whatever system they release. Wed 7th Sep don't care if Nintendo's future is on a toaster- where Nintendo's games go, I go.

After the launch of Super Mario Run in December, Nintendo plans to deliver its previously announced mobile device titles in the Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem series before the end of March, 2017. Super Mario Run represents the next phase of Nintendo's expansion to mobile platforms, following the release of Miitomo earlier this year. iMessage users can easily access and use these stickers in a variety of ways, bringing a bit of Mushroom Kingdom flavor to their conversations. To help iOS users get ready for the launch of Super Mario Run, a free Mario-themed sticker pack for the App Store for iMessage will launch this month.

IOS users will be able to download and enjoy a portion of Super Mario Run for free and will be able to enjoy all of the game content available in this release after paying a set purchase price. In addition, there is a mode in which you create your own Mushroom Kingdom based upon these play results. Super Mario Run has a mode in which the player collects coins and heads for the goal, and a mode in which the player competes against the acrobatic moves of other people who have completed the same course. Part of Nintendo's press release is below:

In addition there'll be Super Mario stickers for iMessage in the next major operating system update for Apple devices. It certainly looked slick in the presentation, and a key point is that it will not be free-to-play with micro-transactions there'll be an introductory free download available, but it'll have a fixed price for the whole experience. In a third mode you can create, expand and customize your Mushroom Kingdom with coins you collect in the core and competitive modes. A second mode has you battle against the runs set by other players. The core mode is a matter of running through courses you tap to jump, with the timing impacting the kind of jump. In a surprising appearance, Shigeru Miyamoto and Bill Trinen appeared on stage at today's Apple conference to announce Super Mario Run, a game that has been designed specifically for mobile and will come to iOS first in time for the Holiday season, with a December release confirmed.Īs the name suggests this is a runner in which you go left to right, though it has a few tweaks.
